Andrew E. Burdsall


Andy Burdsall is the president of Riverbend Financial Group, LLC. He focuses on values-based financial planning, effective asset and cash flow management and efficient charitable giving. He holds the Behavioral Financial Advisor designation.

Andy grew up in the Air Force and moved around the country, landing in Kansas City when his father retired and he entered the fourth grade. Upon completion of high school, he attended Iowa State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Andy worked in engineering, supervision and management for Fortune 50 companies until 1999, when he and his wife, Deanna, decided it was time for a career change. Andy joined American Express Financial Advisors and eventually moved his practice from Louisville, Kentucky to New Albany, Indiana. He was instrumental in the formation of Navigator Financial Group in December, 2001, became the sole owner of the business in September, 2003 and continued as president when the business became Riverbend Financial Group LLC in July 2007. As a sister firm to Riverbend Physicians, Riverbend Financial serves clients coming from a wide range of demographics and geographies.

Andy is a Registered Principal with Securities America, Inc. and is an Investment Advisory Representative of Securities America Advisors, Inc.

Deanna and Andy live in Southern Indiana with their three girls, Kate, Camryn and Ellie. They enjoy volunteering at church and are very active in the girls’ activities, although empty-nesting is coming fast.

Adam Henley

Vice President, Client Service

Adam is the Vice President of Riverbend Financial Group. He helps lead the Riverbend team, assists the financial advisors in developing and growing their practices, and provides attentive service to our clients.

Adam is a lifelong resident of Southern Indiana, graduating from New Albany High School in 1996 and Indiana University Southeast in 2000. He joined the office in 1998 through an internship program offered by IUS, and has helped grow and transition the firm into Riverbend Financial Group.

Adam married his lovely wife, Tiffany, in 2000. They live in Henryville with their two children, Parker and Sophie. In his free time, he enjoys watching his kids participate in a variety of sports and activities. He also enjoys being active, getting outside, watching sports, playing computer games with Parker, and just hanging out with the family.

Kristina English


Regardless of their asset level, Kristina believes every person needs financial planning and became a financial advisor to help others achieve their goals and dreams. Kristina assists our clients with wealth management, specifically financial and retirement planning, and also helps them with their life, Medicare, health insurance, disability and long-term care needs through insurance solutions.

Kristina holds Series 7, 65 and 66 securities licenses as well as life, health, long-term care and annuity insurance licenses in Indiana and Kentucky. She has over 16 years of experience in the financial services industry and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Practitioner. Kristina also holds a Master of Science in health care administration and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Western Kentucky University, and is an alumni member of the 2017 Leadership Southern Indiana DISCOVER program. Kristina is also an active volunteer with Leadership Southern Indiana, working for several years with the NEXGEN program and now serves as the committee chair for the NEXGEN program. Kristina is also a member of the Leadership Southern Indiana Advisory Board.

Kristina and her husband, John, have two children, Ethan and Jake. She enjoys spending time with family, watching her sons’ extracurricular activities and attending and volunteering at Northside Christian Church.

Madison Shields

Financial Advisor

Madison was born and raised in New Albany. She attended Christian Academy of Indiana for all twelve years of her primary and secondary education. After high school, she attended the University of Louisville where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She is currently attending the graduate school at IUS to pursue an MBA and a Master’s in Strategic Finance.

Madison interned with Riverbend during college and is now on-staff in a Financial Advisor role. She is fully licensed after passing the SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 exams, as well as the Life & Health Insurance Certification.

In her free time, she enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with her seven younger siblings.


Nic Reed


Nic Reed graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a double major in Finance and Marketing. He interned with Riverbend in the past, but is now on-staff in a Financial Advisor role. Nic is officially fully licensed after passing his SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 exams, as well as his Life & Health Insurance Certification.

Nic played college basketball at Olivet Nazarene University and has been playing basketball since he was four years old. His hobbies include anything involving sports and spending time with his family and friends.

He and his college sweetheart, Abby, were recently married in the Summer of 2020!

Joe Burdsall

General Manager

Joe was born in Germany outside of Ramstein Air Force Base. After a couple of Air Force moves, he landed with his family in Kansas City where he completed his education through high school. The summer after his graduation, Joe entered the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. There, he graduated as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served for five years at Fort Lewis, Washington, as an Armor Officer, finishing his service as a Captain. Joe owned and operated a picture framing business outside of Fort Lewis for 13 years where he provided awards and recognition to those still serving. He also worked for several years as a production manager, project manager, and operations manager at two manufacturing plants. In 2018, Joe’s wife Vanessa retired after 21 years in the Army. Noticing a good opportunity to make a big life change, Joe and Vanessa made the decision to move closer to family, relocating from the Pacific Northwest.

Joe’s substantial experience in management and operations makes him the perfect fit to keep things running smoothly and efficiently at Riverbend.

Joe, Vanessa and their dog Max now live in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and are pleased to call Kentuckiana their new home.

Matt Hamby


Matt is a lifelong resident of Southern Indiana. His family moved from Corydon to New Albany when he was 12; at which time, he began attending Christian Academy of Indiana where he remained until graduation. After high school, Matt began attending Indiana University Southeast where he plans to graduate in December of 2020 with a B.S. in Business with a concentration in Finance. 

Matt recently joined the Riverbend team as an intern and is currently working on obtaining his regulatory licenses. He also hopes to pursue professional designations after college.

Matt’s hobbies and interests include sports, outdoor activities, cars, fitness, and travel.

Rachael Rightnowar

Client Experience Manager

Rachael is Riverbend’s Client Experience Manager. She is the friendly face that greets our clients when they walk in the door. She loves getting to know our clients personally and ensuring that every person who walks into Riverbend feels valued, respected, and understood.


Rachael was born and raised in Mountain Home, Arkansas.  Surrounded by family and friends, she grew up on the local lakes and rivers and still refers to Arkansas as her home state. She moved to Southern Indiana in 1999, graduated high school and spent several years raising and homeschooling her children—Alowa, Elias, Titus, and Aiana—before beginning her professional career as an Administrative Assistant at Christian Academy of Indiana. Rachael took on the role of Client Experience Manager for Riverbend at the beginning of 2021.  


Rachael lives in New Albany with her amazing children. They all love to be on the water, out riding trails, around a campfire, attending sporting events, and going on family vacations. They hope to visit Hawaii someday soon
