Who We Are

Derek Kitzmiller, CPA 

Derek graduated from Indiana University Southeast in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business.  He passed his CPA exam in 1999 and is licensed in both Indiana and Kentucky.  For nearly nine years, Derek worked for Melhiser Endres Tucker CPAs in New Albany, Indiana.  After which, Derek ran a successful individual practice for about a year before joining the Riverbend team in September, 2007 as a member of Riverbend Tax Services and Bookkeeping. 

Derek and his wife, Tricia, live in Sellersburg with their daughters, Caroline and Brooke.  They enjoy working with the youth at their church.

Cynthia A. Short

Cindy worked full time in the finance and insurance industries while attending Indiana University Southeast.  She and her husband, Steve, started a successful home building business in 1990.  This allowed Cindy to work side by side with Steve and have the flexibility to raise their children, Abby & Christopher, with mom at home.  In 2000, when her children were both in school, Cindy began working as a tax preparer during tax season.  She continues to work with her husband in their business and joined the Riverbend team in November 2007.

Cindy and her family live in Georgetown, Indiana and attend Georgetown Christian Church.  She loves spending time with her family and friends and meeting new people.
